The upper airway benefits enormously from inhalation therapy. This is because easy access allows the drug to deposit exactly where needed, i.e. in the target area.
Inhalation therapy is therefore effective in treating rhinopathies, colds and allergies, adenoiditis, nasal polyposis, rhinosinusitis and sinusitis.
The efficacy of the treatment always depends on the use of a suitable nebuliser, such as the Rinowash, which is specifically designed for treating the upper airway using drugs and natural solutions since the particles are more than 10 microns in size.
Air Liquide Medical Systems’ solution
The Rinowash is the first endonasal device for treating the upper airway with an aerosol. It is comprised of a central nebuliser in which the drug is placed. The nebuliser contains a cylinder (pisper) that atomises the solution. It can be attached to the nebuliser by pressing down firmly on it. First the drug must be placed inside. Then the small bell, which is used for atomisation, is applied, and on top of it the large bell, which is used to collect the fluid from the treated nostril in the space between the two bells.
The Rinowash can be connected to compressor by means of the tube provided. Insert the endpiece in one nostril and press the button to start delivery of the drug. /font>
The atomisation time is one minute per 5 ml of solution. The time should be divided equally between the two nostrils. Besides atomising the drug, the Rinowash removes mucous secretions, clearing the nasal cavities. The secretions are contained in the return fluid.
